Who We Are

Welcome to my site! I am an artist based in Oceanside, CA. I was born and raised in California, then moved to NYC in 2013 to study Modern Dance and Communication Arts. I moved back to the west coast when the pandemic hit, and fell in love with the ocean all over again. I love to create dreamcatchers and jewelry out of beads, stones, shells, flowers, and eucalyptus leaves. Some dreamcatchers are created with recycled jewelry. In addition to arts and crafts, I am a yoga teacher and a pole dance instructor. I have been teaching vinyasa yoga for over 8 years, and the practice inspires me to embrace the beauty and interconnectedness of all things within me and around me. As a dancer, I strongly believe in the power of communication with the body and the importance of movement for our overall health. You might see some fun, pole dance-inspired goodies in the Midnight Snack category!

I am currently going to school to become a Speech Language Pathologist, and the profits will go towards the masters program. My goal is to help people communicate with their voice and their body. I am excited for the opportunity to work with all age groups, but I especially want to help individuals with Parkinson’s, and the senior community in general. When living in NYC, I volunteered for a program called Dance For PD. The program offered dance classes with live music for individuals with Parkinson’s Disease. One day, I hope to bring those classes to San Diego County!

Samsara Dreamcatchers

Ever since I was a child, I have been fascinated by Native American art. I had dreamcatchers and kachina dolls in my bedroom. I had been drawn to stones as well, immediately going to the rock box to look at the different colorful tumbled stones. I was mesmerized by the colors, shapes, and textures. I started making dreamcatchers in 2019, and since then, I’ve never made the same one twice.

Why Samsara? Samsara refers to the continuous cycle of life, death, and rebirth. Shiva Nataraj dances in a ring of flames that represents samsara. Inspired by the King Dancer and the cycles that happen within us and around us, I decided on the name Samsara Dreamcatchers. A dreamcatcher catches bad dreams and allows the good ones to pass through. I want to honor this purpose, while adding personal touches. Making these pieces puts me in a meditative state, and it brings me joy to add more colors to my life!

Each dreamcatcher is one of a kind, like the person it is going home to. It is special to create for the individual, and when creating custom dreamcatchers, I like to ask what music or podcast the future owner listens to. I then create the piece while listening to the musician and/or podcast, so I can weave a bit of that individual’s vibe into the dreamcatcher. It is a fun, playful passion of mine. It brings me joy, and I hope my creations do the same for you!
